Bunty is a bonny cob mare that is ready to find her special new home as a non-ridden companion. She came in as part of a welfare case and was completely unhandled on arrival at the farm. Bunty was very untrusting of people to begin with and it has taken her groom a lot of time and patient handling to build her trust. She has improved greatly and is now good for all her basic handling. Bunty can still be shy with new people, so we are looking for an experienced person to take her on loan and spend lots of time building her trust. She has a sweet nature and is very affectionate towards her groom. Bunty’s groom has done a lot of clicker training with her which she responds well to and has improved her confidence. She will march up to her groom in the field, always expecting to come in for some attention. Bunty did not have the best start in life, but she has turned into a lovely mare and is so rewarding to work with. She would be best suited to a quite yard where she will receive lots of one-to-one handling and pampering. Bunty can be a typical mare on occasions and will have a wee strop if she doesn’t appreciate something, due to this she will need an experienced handler. She is not a fan of the vet but will tolerate them when she must. Bunty is gaining in confidence with her feet being trimmed but will need a patient farrier out on loan for this to continue. She is currently living out with a group of mares and she gets along well with her field mates. Bunty would be more than happy to mix with geldings but may become stressed If left completely by herself so will always need a friend in the field. She is a typical cob that needs to watch her waistline so requires a home where she can live on restricted grazing. If you could offer Bunty the new home that she deserves please submit an online application.
Bunty is a sweet natured pony but can still be a little worried on occasions.
Bunty came into World Horse Welfare care in April 2019 with four other ponies as part of a welfare case. Bunty was completely unhandled on arrival. All of the ponies had over gown hooves and they were also infested with lice.
