Mickey Joe is ready to find a new home as a youngster. The perfect home for him would be with other ponies or horses who he could play with at times and who he can form new bonds with. Mickey has always lived in a small herd so is used to company and will need restricted grazing to manage his weight. He has, however, started to learn about life skills such as being led away from the field on his own, being groomed, walking in and out of stables and other basic in-hand tasks. He is taking to these really well and we would be looking for a knowledgeable youngster home for him. He would thrive with a small amount of daily handling so that, in time, he builds up more confidence and trust. Mickey has the potential, in the future, to be backed as a child's riding pony. He is classed as a mini cob so would have a predicted adult height of around 12.2hh. Until he is at the stage to be backed, he could participate in low level agility or in-hand showing.
Typical youngster, who is very curious and friendly but sensitive to new tasks.
Mickey Joe came in to our care with several other ponies as part of a welfare concern in the winter of 2019.
