**** Due to the large number of applications we have received we are currently no longer accepting new applications for Oreo. This is to give our rehoming team time to thoroughly assess those who have applied in order to ensure a good match, as well as progressing the rehoming of other horses. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause. **** Oreo is ready to be rehomed as a youngster. He is a friendly boy who loves fuss and he will follow you for attention and cuddles. However, due to his young age and inexperience, he can be a bit quirky so he will definitely require an experienced, confident handler. Oreo will worry in unfamiliar situations and it is at these times he doesn't always stop to think before he reacts. Oreo is young and typically can be insecure, he does need a handler to reassure him and correct him as required. As he continues to develop into a bigger, stronger horse it is very important that bad habits aren't allowed to develop in the early stages to ensure his education transitions smoothly. Once in a routine with regular handling where he is exposed to new things he is sure to improve, as he has matured so much already. Oreo does benefit from good grazing and gets on well with others in his field, he currently lives with a group of geldings. Like any youngster he loves to play and burn off excess energy. Oreo has masses of potential and is looking for a home with somebody who has experience with big, young horses where he will be handled daily to ensure that the boundaries are consistent. When Oreo is old enough he can begin work towards becoming a ridden horse. His present height is around 14.3hh but he still has growing to do, when backed he will have a maximum rider weight limit of about 11 stone.
Oreo has a sweet temperament but does require consistent handling.
Oreo came into World Horse Welfare care in March 2019. He was 10 months old, unhandled and entire when he arrived at Glenda Spooner Farm.
His current height is about 14.3hh but he still has some growing to do.
