Squirrel is ready to find a new home as a project pony with the aim of being backed to ride as a lead rein pony. She was nervous on arrival at the farm but her groom has done an excellent job of building her confidence and she is now a much braver pony. Squirrel is happy to come in for a groom and to go long reining around the farm in her tack. She has had our dummy rider on board which didn’t seem to faze her. Squirrel can be a little nervous in new situations but we think that this will improve with more work as she has come on so well in the short time that we have had her. She will need an experienced adult to continue with her education and then get a little jockey on board when she is ready. We think that Squirrel will enjoy being a lead rein pony as she loves going for walks around the farm and has such a sweet temperament. Squirrel will have a weight limit of 42kg which should include the weight of her saddle and rider. As with most small ponies she will need a home where her grazing can be restricted to prevent her becoming overweight. Squirrel is very well behaved for both our vet and farrier. If Squirrel sounds like the right pony for you please apply online.
Squirrel is a sweet natured pony that can be a little shy at times.
Squirrel came into World Horse Welfare care as one of a group of 20 that were taken in by Belwade in September 2018. The group had originally been an RSPCA welfare case during 2018.
