Ruby is ready to be rehomed as a non ridden companion and we would love to find her a special home where she can build a bond with her handler and also live with one or two confident but quiet horses or ponies. Currently, Ruby lives out 24/7 with mares but could potentially live with a quiet gelding. Part of her rehabilitation has been to come in to a stable for short periods, which she is doing really well with, especially if there is a tasty haynet in there too! As Ruby had not been handled on arrival at Glenda Spooner Farm, she has gradually built up her confidence and trust with people, starting on a one-to-one basis but now happily comes over in the field to interact with several others. She will need her grazing restricted as she is prone to weight gain so to be rehomed with ponies who need the same requirements would be the best scenario for her. After such a poor start in life, Ruby really does deserve to find a long term home where she will make a lovely companion and also get to learn from positive experiences.
Very sweet but needs a quiet, confident handler to bond with.
Ruby came to Glenda Spooner Farm in 2015 with several other mares and youngsters as part of a prosecution case. She was pregnant, frightened and in very poor condition. Once Ruby had her foal, she was able to begin her rehabilitation.
