Rocket is an incredibly friendly, inquisitive youngster who loves nothing better than to get involved with anything going on around him. He would suit a home with other small ponies and a family who are looking for a companion pony. This super little chap has the potential to be backed as a child's riding pony in the future. He will benefit from a positive, competent handler when learning new tasks to ensure that he maintains his confidence and feels secure if he is worried about anything. At the farm, Rocket has developed a range of skills including loading in the trailer and having a bath with the hosepipe and he has met the vet and farrier for routine visits. He has been stabled for short periods and although he may worry initially, he will settle and will become more confident when this is a regular part of his routine. Rocket has made an excellent companion to several young foals at Glenda Spooner Farm during their weaning process and he has mixed with mares and geldings at the centre. He seems to get on with everyone! It is very important that Rocket has restricted grazing as he is prone to weight gain. Ponies with the same grazing management requirments would be ideal friends for Rocket. If you can offer Rocket a home please apply online.
He is excellent to handle and very friendly.
Rocket came in to our care in March 2017 along with his mother, Dolly. Prolonged lack of appropriate care and the extra demands of lactation with a foal at foot meant Dolly was in very poor condition.
