Turtle is ready to be rehomed as a youngster. He is a very intelligent little chap and since being weaned from his mother his training and confidence has come on in leaps and bounds. Turtle has learnt about leading in and out of his field, meeting our specialists, being groomed and is currently spending short periods of time in a stable. At the moment he lives out 24/7 with a group of geldings and is a calm influence in the group, although he does occasionally like to play with the younger members of the herd. Turtle is a sensitive soul and we are looking for a rehomer who has experience working with timid youngsters and who will be able to establish a bond with him and improve his confidence. We think that Turtle has the potential to become a ridden pony in the future so his training during his formative years will be critical to the success of this. He has a predicted height of 15hh, but will also have a rider weight limit of around 9-9.5 stone dependent on his height and frame at maturity.
He is very well behaved and has a quiet temperament, but is sensitive to new situations and people.
Turtle was born at Glenda Spooner Farm in May 2016. His mother was brought in with several other mares in foal after concerns were raised for their welfare. Following weaning, Turtle began a handling program with the farm team.
