Handsome boy Elvis is now looking for a home as a project horse. He returned from loan earlier this year where he was lightly backed and is now ready to continue his ridden career in a new home. Although Elvis has established his basic skills under saddle, we have restarted his ground work programme at the farm with a view to beginning the backing process again, to consolidate his new found skills before he tackles new challenges as a ridden horse. This training will need to be continued in his new home to ensure he has all the necessary skills in place prior to re- backing. Since being back at Glenda Spooner Farm, we have found Elvis to be a fun and straightforward chap, but note he does still need lots of reassurance with other horses as well as his human friends. Elvis will thrive in a home with other working horses and a competent, confident rehomer with a broad skill set. We are looking for a rehomer with experience bringing on horses on the ground and backing youngsters. Please apply online if you want to spend time getting to know Elvis and giving him confidence as he matures.
Elvis is a laid back character, but does need a confident, experienced handler who will help him to stick within clearly defined boundaries and build his confidence.
Elvis came into our care in 2012 after he and another young horse were abandoned. He was underweight with overgrown feet and was very lethargic and depressed.
