Darley
Darley Image 3 On arrival

Introduction

Darley is looking for a new home as a hack. He has been ridden out quietly at Glenda Spooner Farm, on his own and with others, but he can worry if he encounters something new out hacking on his own, so a competent rider and the opportunity to be in company would be ideal in his new home. Darley currently lives out with a group of geldings, but he has lived with mares previously. It is important that Darley has consistency and this extends to his equine friends, as he does become anxious when faced with change. He does not like to be on his own, so a home with more than one other horse would be the most suitable for him. Darley is a very sweet gelding who looks to his handler for reassurance. His ideal home will be with someone who has the time to spend building a bond with him and is happy to hack, because Darley cannot be ridden in a school or jumped. He could, however, participate in pleasure rides. Please be aware that Darley has a rider weight limit of 10.5 stone and we are looking for an an adult rider who has a secure, balanced seat in walk, trot and canter.

Temperament

Darley is a sensible, genuine pony who thrives on routine.

History

Darley arrived with us following concerns for a large group of horses, many of which were unhandled, had overgrown feet and were in poor condition.
