Anastasia is a sweet natured mare who is looking for a home as a non ridden companion. She cannot be ridden or driven due to mild right hind lameness. When Ana arrived at Glenda Spooner Farm, she was very unsure of people and it was clear she had little handling. With a lot of patience and understanding from her groom, Ana has proven to be very clever and if asked in the right way she picks things up very quickly. She has a quiet, reserved nature so would suit a private home or very small, quiet yard. Ana has been turned out 24/7 with a mixture of mares, but at present is turned out with a small gelding. She will need restricted grazing to prevent laminitis and weight gain. Ana is a great companion and could be left on her own or stabled for short periods if another horse was ridden. We would love to find this gentle mare a forever home with someone who has the time and experience to bond with her.
Very sweet but needs reassurance in new situations.
Anastasia came in to Glenda Spooner Farm in March 2014 with 3 other mares. They were all unhandled and very anxious about their new surroundings. After the initial settling in period, Anastasia started an intense handling program and was successfully rehomed. She returned in August 2015.
