Mearns is a lovely gelding who is now ready for rehoming as a light hack. Mearns is only suitable to be ridden in walk but he is happy to go out hacking for up to an hour. As Mearns is an older gentleman he does have joint problems but keeping him in light hacking work has helped this. This can be discussed in detail with anyone that applies for him. Mearns is very sensible to ride and would be suited to someone that would like to hack around the countryside. He has brilliant manners and is great to handle. Mearns will need his feet done every six weeks as his foot balance must be kept correct to prevent him going lame. Due to this we would like him to stay in the Aberdeenshire area in order for him to have the same farrier. Mearns has a weight limit of 72kg which must include the weight of his saddle and rider. If you think Mearns sounds like the perfect hacking horse for you please feel free to apply for him.
Laid back gelding with excellent manners.
Mearns came into Belwade Farm with lameness problems. He has since been rehabilitated and is now fit to be rehomed as a light hack.
